    Autoclaving Duties:
  • Be thoroughly trained in the operation, cleaning, and ongoing maintenance of the autoclave.
  • Identify items appropriate for autoclaving and select the correct cycle.
  • Understand which items are unsuitable for autoclaving.

  • Ensure the workspace remains functional and ready for use by others when not on site.
  • Perform tasks in a timely, organized, and resource-conscious manner, minimizing reagent and energy waste.
  • Communicate openly with supervisors and team members for guidance, especially regarding atypical cleaning requests. Interact clearly and professionally with supervisors, team members, and laboratory personnel to address issues and relay information promptly.
This role requires a high degree of responsibility, attention to detail, and commitment to laboratory safety and cleanliness standards. Consistent attendance, efficient work habits, and strong communication skills are essential to ensuring successful performance in this position.
    Minimum Qualifications
  • Reliable attendance is required.
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively as part of the Dishlab department team.
  • Ability to record work hours accurately.
  • Possess a functional understanding of basic Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.
  • Ability to move throughout the facility as needed, which may involve walking an estimated average of 2,000 steps per day.
  • Capable of safely transporting carts loaded with glassware, exercising care to avoid damage.
