College/Department Information
The Medical College of Georgia (MCG) is one of the nation's largest medical schools by class size, with 304 students per class. The MCG educational experience is anchored by the main campus in Augusta, with regional clinical campuses for third- and fourth-year students across the state, and two four-year campuses located in Athens (in partnership with the University of Georgia) and in Savannah (in partnership with Georgia Southern University). MCG's expanding partnerships with physicians and hospitals across Georgia currently provide more than 350 sites where students can experience the full spectrum of medicine, from complex care hospitals to small-town solo practices. MCG and its teaching hospitals also provide postgraduate education to approximately 575 residents and fellows in 50 different Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education-approved programs. Our researchers and clinicians focus on what most impacts the health of Georgia's and America's children and adults, including cardiovascular biology and disease, cancer, neurosciences and behavioral sciences, public and preventive health, regenerative and reparative medicine, personalized medicine and genomics. Our physician faculty also share their expertise with physicians and patients at about 100 clinics and hospitals statewide.
Job Summary
This position provides direction, leadership and day-to-day management of educational and departmental activities to include administrative support to the Residency Program Director (PD), Associate Program Director(s) and Chief Resident(s) and educational coordination between attending physicians, residents, medical students and institutional and regulatory administrative offices. The coordinator must demonstrate initiative, resourcefulness and problems solving skills in applying a detailed knowledge of the responsibilities, functions and underlying management structure of the department and of the larger institutions in organizing and independently prioritizing work, establishing procedures and systems and ensuring orderly and timely workflow. Coordinates and administers human resource functions and participates in budget review and financial processes. Acts for and makes independent decisions in the program director's absence within prescribed limits of authority.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Ensure house staff compliance with established policies and procedures; manage/coordinate ACGME conducted accreditation site visits for direct department Program. Coordinate PRITE examination.

Schedule meetings, prepare agendas, record and maintain meeting minutes, develop reports and provide data to the direct department Committee; prepare written reports and correspondence for Program Director relative to residency program implement policies developed by direct department.
Provide the program Director with tracking and reports required for collaboration between core residency program and subspecialty fellowship programs.
Maintain web based ACGME accreditation surveys for General Program, collecting and collecting appropriate information from various sources throughout the campus; compile and submit reports and milestone evaluations to ACGME and other professional organizations as required maintain GME Track.
Initials, oversee and monitor house staff recruitment budget, including projections of future needs compile documentation for justification of additional funding.
Complete/ coordinate documentation and credentialing for all graduate medical education training conducted within the department maintain all house staff personnel records, including confidential evaluation and counseling record. Serve as liaison between and communicate with all appropriate campus offices and affiliated hospitals as well as program director and hospital staff. Maintain resident record of training on the ABPN.
Coordinate all social functions and special events: Including welcome breakfast/luncheons for new residents, resident retreat, graduation, GME1] related project etc.
Review residency applications and evaluate for completeness, screen appropriate applicants for PD review, notify applicants of decisions for interviews and arrange accommodations for applicants visit use, knowledge of ERAS software to manage residency applications and compile reports as necessary. Recruit and schedule faculty needed for the interview process, compile recruitment brochures and all printed materials and forms, coordinate all house staff interviews including communicating with applicants as necessary.
Communication with all incoming residents to ensure compliance with the credentialing process. Collect all required documentation and deliver to the GME office. Ensure all residents are credentialed annually. Update all training requirements for outgoing residents and ensure correct check-out procedures are followed.
Prepare and submit GME Duty Hour Reports on a monthly basic prepare VA work schedule calendar, worksheet, and draft monthly invoice coordinated with VA direct department contact; contact prepare Georgia Board for Physician Workforce monthly reports.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and 4 years professional or administrative experience to include a minimum of 2 years of educational program experience or similar experience.
OR
Associate's degree from an accredited college or university and 7 years professional or administrative experience to include a minimum of 4 years of educational program experience or similar experience.
OR
High school diploma and 10 years professional or administrative experience to include a minimum of 6 years of educational program experience or similar experience.

Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases.

Pay Band: B9
Salary Minimum: $23.46/hourly - $29.33/hourly
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
