What Your Job Will Be Like:

We are seeking a highly motivated Data Engineer to architect and develop solutions to store, manage, and provision data to consumers within the Denodo platform.

Our team of software engineers have a deep understanding of our customers’ business domains. Combining this knowledge with our comprehensive set of capabilities, allows us to extract data from a broad range of sources and deliver trusted datasets for reports, visualizations, and analytical models.

On any given day you may be called on to:

  • Develop and maintain data pipelines to support data science and engineering initiatives
  • Integrate and manage data from diverse sources, including cloud-based platforms
  • Utilize data visualization techniques to present data insights to stakeholders
  • Serve as a Denodo data integration and delivery expert to support enterprise reporting and analytics

Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant must be able to work onsite.

Salary Range:

$114,000 - $227,500

*Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.

Qualifications We Require:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering/Computer Science/Management Information Systems or related field, plus 5 years of experience; or equivalent (AS + 9 years or no degree + 13 years)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q clearance

Qualifications We Desire:

  • Experience developing data engineering solutions using programming languages such as Python, Java, SQL, and PL/SQL
  • Experience with developing data pipelines from many sources from structured and unstructured data sets in a variety of formats
  • Experience in design, management, and solutioning of large, complex data sets and models
  • Experience with data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes
  • Experience with database technologies: SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, columnar (Snowflake), NoSQL
  • Experience with Big Data tools such as, Spark, Hive, Impala, Polybase, Phoenix, Presto, Kylin, etc.
  • Experience designing and developing virtual data views in the Denodo platform
  • Configuration Management: Experience with software code/configuration management tools such as Git, Subversion, etc
  • Experience gathering user specifications and defining requirements
  • Ability to complete tasks with evolving requirements and minimal direction
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and ability to see/convey the big picture
  • Ability to tackle ambiguity and adapt to a fast-paced, customer-focused operation
  • Ability to work and communicate in an interdisciplinary team environment

About Our Team:

Enterprise data is created/managed by many source systems using different technologies and stored in various structures. Our team of software engineers and solutions architects have a deep understanding of Sandia business domains. Combining this knowledge with our comprehensive set of capabilities, allows us to unify disparate enterprise datasets and deliver consistent/reliable data to consumers (data scientists, analysts, report developers, etc.) to answer critical business questions.
