The mission of the Hull College of Business is to deliver high-quality programs of instruction, to engage primarily in applied research, and to address workforce development needs. We impact our regional community through interdisciplinary activities and achieve our mission by developing business professionals through experiential learning, community engagement, and career development activities. Developing exceptional business professionals through experiential learning and community engagement who make a positive impact on local and global business communities.
Job Summary
Manages and oversees the business engagement aspects for the students within the Hull College of Business. Specifically, partner with employers to facilitate internships and other experiential learning activities/experiences (e.g., events where students interact with the business community) that support business students.
Responsibilities
The duties include, but are not limited to:
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide career/professional development guidance and support to students in the Hull College of Business to assist with their overall professional growth and career/employment goals. Partner with employers, faculty, and campus resources to facilitate career development programs and nurture employment opportunities that support students in the Hull College of Business.
EMPLOYER DEVELOPMENT AND RELATIONS: Build partnerships between the university and external communities (business, the public sector, and not-for-profit entities) to facilitate employment and career services programs for students as a member of Career Services and the Hull College External Relations Team.
EMPLOYER DEVELOPMENT AND RELATIONS PERFORMANCE STANDARDS: Expand and nurture employer relationships for the Hull College of Business to benefit the university through outreach, site visits, mail/email/social media campaigns, marketing, and facilitation of partnerships with employers and the Hull College. Work closely with employers regarding their hiring needs within the Hull College of Business or as determined by the office, which includes the facilitation of job postings, conducting resume referrals, employer follow-up, marketing, etc.
Provide support to the Hull College internship program to include administrative paperwork in securing approved internship sites, educating employers about Hull and university internship policies, etc. Facilitate all on-campus recruitment initiatives for Hull College of Business programs or as requested by the office, to include scheduling, marketing, and site coordination on event days. Monitor and document the successful employment of students/graduates for Hull and the University reporting purposes. Represent Hull College of Business and the University at various corporate and campus functions to gain exposure across the community, state, and region.
STUDENT ENGAGEMENT AND DEVELOPMENT: Advises Hull College of Business students and recent graduates individually and in groups to assist with career and professional development needs.
STUDENT ENGAGEMENT AND DEVELOPMENT PERFORMANCE STANDARDS: Identifies and addresses issues related to individual student development, such as motivation, career indecision, self-efficacy, and decision making that impact success. Educates constituents about the tools, resources, and services available to assist in their career
planning and goal attainment. Consults with Hull College of Business students to educate and prepare them for competitive internships and full-time opportunities. Collaborates with Hull College Program Managers and faculty to support curricular and co-curricular
professional development initiatives.
PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT AND EXECUTION: Collaborates with Hull College program managers, faculty, and Career Services to align and customize resources for students by identifying competencies and areas to develop about the Intersection of the student's education and career goals in specific professions.
PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT AND EXECUTION PERFORMANCE STANDARDS:
Career/Major Specific Program Development/Support: Develop curricular and co-curricular programs that support the tailored professional development and preparation needs of Hull College of Business students.
Internship Program Management: Manage the paperwork and administrative functions of the Hull College Internship Program.
Marketing: Work with the Hull College Communications Specialist to generate marketing material to students and employers. This can include the development/dissemination of flyers, newsletters, career development content, promotion of office events via social media, email, and Campus Calendar and other technology resources.
Resource Development: Implement innovative career development programming and resources to compliment Hull College and Career Services priorities as market trends and student needs evolve.
EMPLOYMENT DATA COLLECTION/DISSEMINATION: Collect and report employment data monthly (internships, career employment, student employment, etc.) or for promotional and accreditation purposes.
Collaborate with the Director of Career Services to report employment data needed for university documentation purposes. Maintain quality control measures through the Career Services employment system daily by: monitoring new user updates and resumes loaded for accuracy; reviewing new jobs posted for employer follow-up; pulling reports as needed to benchmark data; assisting managers with projects related to the system.
REPORTING/DOCUMENTATION: Generate/calculate Career Services monthly reports on student appointments, services, on-campus recruitment, programming Initiatives, and other areas designated by the Director to assist with benchmarking office services continuously. Document student appointment notes and follow-up efforts (email, phone, drop in, etc.) with students and keep them updated weekly. Utilize Banner, PeopleSoft, Institutional Research reports, and other campus information resources to generate relevant data for verifications, reporting, etc.
TECHNOLOGY: Maintain an expert status on all aspects of technology in career exploration & job search resources to assist students and employers (licensed career services software, websites, technology in the job market, etc)
Maintain all databases and student files pertinent to the management of office documentation for monthly, semester, and annual reporting purposes. Utilize Banner, PeopleSoft, Institutional Research reports, and other campus information resources to generate relevant data for verifications, reporting, etc.
COMPLIANCE WITH PATIENT/FAMILY-CENTERED CARE STANDARDS: Demonstrates dignity and respect for patient and family, and for patient and family knowledge, values, beliefs, and cultural background in the planning and delivery of care. Provides information sharing, ensuring patients and families receive timely, complete, and accurate information to effectively participate in care and decision-making. Encourages patient and family participation in care and decision-making at the level they choose. Promotes collaboration with patients and families in policy and program development, implementation, and evaluation in health care facility design, professional education, and delivery of care.
DEPARTMENTAL EXPECTATIONS FOR PROFESSIONALISM/TEAMWORK/LEADERSHIP: Maintain professional affiliations/memberships in organizations to represent the university. Career Services and the Hull College of Business. Focus on areas for professional development to keep ahead of trends in managing the program area. This includes conferences, workshops, technology Instruction, and reading resources pertinent to specific area of management. Conduct all roles/responsibilities as a professional model to students and as a professional
representative of the university to the community (attire, attitude, cooperative spirit, social media, confidentiality, and professional demeanor). Always maintain positive customer service relations with internal and external customers by being polite, punctual, flexible, organized, and accessible. Establish seamless communication with Career Services and Hull College colleagues. Keep informed of office Initiatives/needs in various areas, collaborate, and problem solve office issues and needs in a timely and professional manner. Serve as a team member with Hull College's external relations and academic advisement functions. Serve as a member of the Career Services team to assist with the promotion of careers planning resources and execution of events deemed appropriate by Career Services and Hull College of Business leadership.
OTHER DUTIES: Perform all other job-related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in an applicable field of study with a minimum of two years of related experience.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
KNOWLEDGE
Experience with program development, student services, internships/field experiences, and collaborations across multiple constituent groups, working knowledge of computer software systems (Databases, Operating Systems, Spreadsheets, Microsoft Office, etc.)
SKILLS
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; Strong problem-solving skills.
ABILITIES
Ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to communicate in various ways and collaborate with the Hull College staff and faculty, the dean's office, and other Colleges and support units; ability to troubleshoot.
Shift/Salary/Benefits
Shift: Days/M-F (Work outside of normal business hours may be required)
Pay Band: B9
Salary: Minimum $48,800/annual
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum midpoint) of the position.
